-Liza was accepted by the Aldeburgh Festival’s Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme for their English Song Project. She will attend the festival in March 2014.
-Liza’s Trio for Flute, Violin, and Piano won University of Texas at Austin’s call for scores for their Graduate Association of Music & Musicians conference. Her piece will be performed in March 2014.
-Liza’s Requiem for female choir, chamber orchestra, and soprano soloist won in the 2013 American Prize in the choral division. Click here to read the announcement:
-Liza’s “Allusions of the Piano” was a finalist in the 2013 American Prize in the orchestral division and “Buzzing and Barely Contained” was a semi-finalist in the chamber division.
-The NJ Composers’ Guild has commissioned Liza to compose a 10-15 minute piece for the Cygnus Ensemble. Performance details will be announced. For more information about the Cygnus Ensemble, click here.
-Liza’s Requiem for female choir, chamber orchestra, and soprano soloist was a finalist in the 2013 BMI Student Composers’ Awards.
-Liza was accepted by Bowdoin’s International Music Festival as a composition student, studying with Derek Bermel this summer. She will also be a resident assistant.
-Liza was selected to present at Verdi’s Third Century: Italian Opera Today conference hosted by New York University from October 9 through October 13, 2013. She will present her paper discussing Verdi’s Ave Maria sulla scala enigmatica.
